To all believers in Wana Land,
Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus our Savior.
In this letter we want to tell you about the survey trip the four of us made to the island of Peleng. We want to tell you thank you very much because you prayed for us while we were gone doing this survey on that island. And we tell you thanks as well for the money which you collected for us - we want you to know that gift was not eaten by rust and wasn't eaten by termites but that gift is stored in the bank of heaven by our Father, that is the Lord God. So we want to thank you very much for all of that.
So on this island the four of us were taken by one fellow who became our leader whose name is "Jojon". He is from the island of Peleng and the name of the village where he lives is "Paisubatu". Our leader is the one wearing the multicolored shirt who is together with us in the above photo. He is not yet a believer but he was very happy to take us to where he lived. So when we arrived his village we stayed there two nights. After that we traveled around for two days - we rented cycles from people on that island - the one whom we rented from gave us a good rate of $4.00 per day. Really it should have been over $10.00 per day but the Lord was helping and that is why they gave it to us cheaper, and also because everyone was praying.
From there we also traveled to the village called "Kat". That village is 3 kilometers from the village of Paisubatu. (Paisubatu is where Yuspiter is from.) The village of Kat was made by the government. This village is like our village of "White Rock" in Wana as the water is very cold and the air is cold there too. This village has 60 families who have already had houses built for them, but only half of them want to live in the houses the government has built for them. So the government on the island of Peleng has not had success in governing these people so they have said if there are people who are ready to help these people they are welcome to do so!
Besides these people there are still many people who are living in the forest, around 1000-3000 people maybe more, it is not yet clear. These people normally worship other gods just like we did in Wana before we believed, and they also practice sorcery. We are planning to make a second trip but it is not yet clear when we will do this.
We also want to let you know the amount of costs Miyanto and I incurred when we made this trip. From Palu we went by car - the round trip ticket was $60.00 per person and our food expense was $16.00 for the two of us.
After that we slept in a inn near the harbor, so for one night we spent $7.00, but for that we split it three ways with Yus, so the three of us only used one room so it wasn't so expensive. At this inn someone stole my cell phone, but praise the Lord the owner of the inn gave me another phone which was better than the one the person stole, so it is very evident that there is nothing difficult with the Lord. After that the next day we went on to Peleng by boarding a motor boat so we paid $5.00 round trip per person. So the amount of money Miyanto and I used on this survey trip was over $100.00 per person. For us both it was nearly $300.00 that is why we went by car because if we had used the helicopter it would have been $600.00 for the two of us. So we thank you all for helping us both by the finances and through your prayers as your help was very important. Thank you because we work as one in the work of the Lord.
This is also a picture of us when we visited the people who live in the interior of the island of Peleng.
That is all for now. Thank you and we want to let you know that we do not forget to pray for all of you.
In the love of the Lord Jesus,
Esron.
