Greetings from PNG! The phone came back on so I thought I better write while I had the chance. Our rainy season is over and we’re enjoying sunny days again. The last big downpour we had was the evening before I was to make a delivery for one of the local guys here. That evening the rain crashed down trying to bore holes in our roof. The next day I was reluctant to head out but the rain stopped so we headed out. What an adventure we had. There was mud around every corner so we just left the four wheel drive engaged. (It’s amazing where that truck will go) We came to a section of road that was flooded. I had to cross a bridge made out of logs.

On our return trip we picked up passengers galour who were thankful to hitch a ride. We slowly made our way back and I was sure somewhere along the way we’d get stuck real bad and end up sleeping in the bush but Praise the Lord we made it home for dinner!

Recently we had to travel by boat and pick up a family that was over 100 miles away. We left early in the morning before the sun came up high. Thought we’d make good time on the flat seas and all was going well until we got hung up on a reef. When the sun came up, we could tell how big the reef was! No wonder I hit it. Took us an hour to get back to deep water but only after digging a road through the reef. Our new engine took a beating. Surprisingly enough, we picked up the family right on time. Had to offload some cargo including some drums of fuel for a helicopter. That went off a lot easier than it went on.

We’re still hoping a timber company will fix a bridge so we can get supplies into one of the teams we supply. If the last log lets loose, we have to go an alternate route which is a lot longer but should be manageable. As it is now, the family has to meet us at the broken bridge then make 2 shuttles up to their house which is time consuming.

Our latest adventures in finding WWII airplane wrecks lead us to a Japanese plane that was pretty much gone but the engine. To our surprise though, there was a machine gun laying nearby all rusted and corroded. There were 13 planes of this model lost at the end of 1943 and so far we have found 7 of them. We also found the tail of an American B-17. Jared found it actually as he trekked through the jungle. We were hoping to find a plane that hasn’t been found yet but this one already had the remains removed back in 1946 and 1987. It was called the “Texas #6.” The tail was upside down and still had a lot of 50cal. bullets inside. The number was still painted on the tail so we were able to positively identify it.

A barge just showed up so I need to go offload some cases of food. Trust all is well with you and Thank you for remembering us in your Prayers and for your gifts as the Lord leads you to give.

Because HE said, “Go,”
