Greetings!

It is hard to believe that it is already time to begin thinking about returning to Asia Pacific once again. It seems like just yesterday I arrived home from my past trip. I know it is getting close to departing once again as last night I dreamed that I was back in Asia Pacific and that the helicopter pilot was trying to teach me and check me out in flying the helicopter. I must say it wasn’t a pretty picture and I wasn’t doing a very good job at flying that machine. I woke up feeling very grateful for the great pilots and mechanics we have to make our job in these isolated places possible.

Today I sent my passport and visa entry permit application to the Consulate in Chicago so that they will have it when they come into the office on Monday morning. Pray that all is in order and that I won’t have any issues in obtaining this permit. Right now my plans are to depart for Asia Pacific on March 8th arriving there on March 9th. We will appreciate your prayers as we once again have a lot in store to do including a leadership Bible conference for our Wana church leaders, more translation checking on Old Testament Scripture, and numerous consultant visits to other missionary teams. We will also appreciate your prayers as I am still needing to trust the Lord for $2000 for the expenses of this trip.

Below I have included some pictures from back in the beginning days of our work in Wana....thought maybe you might enjoy reminiscing with us what things were like in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Jeanne and I want to thank you so much for having a part in expanding the reach of the gospel in Asia Pacific.

The mother of our first village chief....notice the small string she is wearing above the bracelet – one of their heathen cultural practices.

“Pa’a nTene”  with his spear.  Sadly this man refused the Gospel and passed away into a Christless eternity

Teaching in the early days....We didn’t have much for buildings in those days.

The two little gals in the front middle are now missionary wives who serve on our missionary team!

Baptizing down at the local creek.  The little white kid in the back is our son Geoff.

Jeanne and Linda helping with a new birth.

Coming in for a landing at the old village of “Uebone”.  This village no longer exists due to a threatening landslide.

The “Super Cub” -  our first mode of transportation into this very isolated area.

May God Richly Bless,
