News - Guided By His Hand

November 2013

Dear Friends,

Where has time gone? It seems like just the other day, we were basking in warm sunshine, and now according to the forecast, we should be expecting our first snowfall tonight!! Not sure where Fall went, but somehow the days are flying by and before long I’ll be on my way heading back to Papua New Guinea!

Mengen Update: It has been really exciting to hear reports coming from my teammates in PNG. About 3 weeks ago, two of our Mengen Bible teachers started a new outreach in a village about 12 hours hike away. We are thrilled to see the Lord at work in the hearts of these people who have never heard God’s Word before.

Please pray: for Bruce and Kamilus (caw-me-loose) and their wives and kids. Between the two families, they have 10 young children and it will no doubt be a huge adjustment for everyone, as they settle in this new village, quite a distance from their family and friends. Pray especially for the 2 guys as they teach, that the Lord would give them clarity and discernment as they seek to make God’s Word clear to the 20 or so people who are coming to hear the teaching.

Flanagan Update: Another major prayer request is for my co-workers, Simon and Annika Flanagan. You may remember that a couple of months ago, Annika gave birth to baby Karis who born with problems with her little heart. Right in her first few days of life, she had a couple of serious operations and now she needs another one. Please be in prayer for the Flanagans and baby Karis that the Lord would give wisdom to the doctors that that Karis would be healed. Pray too that her oxygen levels would come up and that this procedure would be the last one that she needs! Here is a link to their NTM blog if you would like to know more. I know they would appreciate your prayers on Monday (our time), as Karis undergoes another complicated surgery.

Thanks so very much for your faithful prayers. Lord willing I’ll be returning to PNG in February. Over the next several months, I will be continuing to spend a lot of time with my grandma. Recently she was moved to a town 1 hour away, so I’ve been spending quite a bit of time driving back and forth. Thankfully she has made the transition really well and is physically a bit better than she was before she fell a few months ago. Thanks so much for your prayers for her.

Thanks for being a blessing and encouragement to me. I appreciate you all so much.

Until we see Jesus,

Becky Preheim
