Three stories from the mission field in Papua New Guinea

It has been a while since we’ve been in touch, but God continues to do great things on this side of the world. This week we started a 4 week discipleship class with these 4 people from Hela Province. After that, they will attend a teachers’ training course so they can go back and reproduce. Pray for their growth.

So far we know of 20 people who want to attend the teachers’ training at the end of the month.

We have sent 6 books to the printer since July and we have 2 more nearly ready to go. Appreciate your prayers as we do the final touches on those. We are happy to see more and more people using our Bible lessons books. Just this week we had requests for digital copies from missionaries in SE Asia and Africa. Kathy turned 70 on Feb. 23rd. So glad to have her by my side. Rejoice with us in what God is doing!

Margaret’s marriage to an unsaved, unfaithful, wife beating husband ended in divorce. She was left with 3 daughters and a miserable life. She came back home (our local community) and heard the Word from some faithful believers. When we returned from our last home assignment, we were shocked to see her face. It was full of peace and joy. She had been saved. She became a good student of the Word, assisted another woman in teaching, took our teachers’ training course and started teaching two women during their lunch hours. Those two women were saved, and Margaret is discipling them. She is a joy to be around and is part of our Sunday night Bible study group. We have many such people in our little community. Praising God for faithful servants.

12 years ago, I got to be part of the dedication of the Aziana New Testament. When the missionary passed out the first carton of Scriptures, it was symbolic of passing the Word and the responsibility on to the church to care for and teach it.

Just last night, I got a call from one of the Aziana leaders and he wanted to tell me that they have faithfully taught the Word in their tribe, and have reached out to another neighboring language family. He passed on a decision from the church leaders that they want to volunteer to assist our team in reaching out to others and and grounding them in the Word. That is stepping up to the plate. Thank God for His power to work in the lives of the Aziana believers. May God use them to touch many others.

Go God!
