June 2017

About a week ago, an email reached the headquarters office requesting a missionary from New Tribes Mission to come and speak to students at the Christian Leaders Training College about 4 hours’ drive from here. They wanted someone to come and teach the students about our Creation to Christ Bible lesson courses during a mission emphasis week.

Word is slowly getting out about this method of teaching and people have seen some of the fruits it has born. What an opportunity! I will be leaving today, along with my assistant, Jonathan Zato (pictured) to be ready to start teaching.

When I received a copy of their program, I saw I was scheduled to speak 5 times. I love it when these “God things” happen. Some may take offence that we were given such short notice or that they didn’t contact me directly, but we look at it as a door of opportunity. Please pray for the students to get a clear message, and that I would be able to communicate clearly. I usually speak in the trade language, Pidgin English, but these students study in English.

Thanks so much for your partnership in this ministry. One more thing to get a little praise on your lips-I received an email from our printer that next week a shipment of 39,000 books should start the long journey to us. Pray for a safe arrival and for expenses involved to get it from the ship to our office.

Thanks,

Jim and Kathy Tanner,

Papua New Guinea
