Greetings from Steve and Sandy Aholt – back in Raytown, MO,

Thanks to each of you for your continued prayers and financial support during our home ministry. We have reported to about one-half of our supporters.

God gave us a beautiful scenic trip through the Appalachian Mountains. The firmament truly shows His handiwork. We will be based in Missouri during the winter months until March, when we return to North Carolina to complete our home ministry reporting.

Unknowingly, we arrived here with enough time to watch the Kansas City Royals win the first game of the World Series of baseball. The team went on to win the title of World Champions, by winning four out of five games of baseball! There was an estimated 800,000 people who came out to a parade to honor the team for their victory.

One day soon, we will see another victory celebration. Philippians 2 says that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. The Champion of our faith, Jesus Christ, had victory over death and the grave. Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Keep pressing on fellow believers – knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord!

Steve had a follow-up visit with his surgeon on Tuesday. Some of his carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms still remain in his right hand. The doctor has ordered a complete nerve scan that is schedule after Thanksgiving. This test will determine if there are some continuing nerve problems. If there are, then an MRI will be scheduled to further pinpoint the problem areas.

Also, Steve’s right hand ring finger was diagnosed with trigger finger. This problem began during his physical therapy and has gradually worsened. The doctor injected cortisone into the palm side of the knuckle to see if this would heal the inflamed tendon. If the problem persists, the doctor will need to do surgery. Thank you for your prayers about these health issues.

The Goroka Baptist Bible College (GBBC) and Papua New Guinea (PNG) are suffering from drought caused by El Nino. This drought has gone on for four months now. The students are dependent on the school gardens to grow their food. The gardens have died, but the coffee plants have thrived. Some of the local coffee plantation crops have dried up. This drought is expected to continue through April 2016. The PNG government is estimating that 10% of the population will die during this time of severe drought.

The GBBC students could use your help! GBBC coffee is grown and harvested on the campus by our students. This rich coffee is now available here in the USA in 200 gram packets of whole bean or ground coffee. Would you consider making a donation to assist the students with their tuition cost (suggested donation of $25)? Every dollar of your donation will go toward tuition work scholarships and to help purchase additional food for the students during this critical time. This donation can be done online through ABWE. Here's a link to the ABWE Give page.
