Dear family and friends,

I recently read some facts that may be of interest to you. In the last twelve months there have been nine New Testament translations that have been completed by missionaries serving with New Tribes Mission. There are one hundred ten New Testament translations that are in process. Translating takes a whole lot of preparation, time, and effort. It also takes friends and supporters who are willing to pray for the missionaries until the task is completed. Many folks doing Bible translation are friends and co-workers of ours from Thailand and Papua New Guinea. Over the years, Brad and I have invested in their lives in a variety of ways. Through your partnership with us, you too, have had a vital part on the team. We look forward to meeting our Christian brothers and sisters in the Lord in heaven someday.

At NTM Homes the streets are named after countries where New Tribes Mission works. Here on Brazil Court there are 6 duplexes. Let me tell you about some of our neighbors:

George and Erma have over 50 years of active service with NTM. They are both declining in health. Erma goes for dialysis three days each week. George recently fell and the ambulance was called. Even so, they remain steadfast in their faith, knowing that the Lord is taking care of them day by day.

Lynne spent 44 years with her husband in PNG working among the Gimi people. She has been having some health issues of late. Linda leaves later this week for a three week trip to Papua New Guinea. She is returning to her field of service to work on some misc. unfinished projects. Her investment of 29 years with the Siawi people group continues to this day.

Don and Marti served for 35 years in the USA and helped train future missionaries. Don is a member of our leadership committee here at NTM Homes and Marti is our librarian. These are just a few of our closest neighbors.

Brad has been part of a group of folks who have been working on updating the website for NTM Homes. He likes to carry his camera around and snap pictures of folks going about their daily activities. You can see quite a number of his photographs that are posted on the site. I checked out the website, and it includes a brief history of NTM Homes, missionary stories, work projects done by our volunteers, and a whole lot of photos. Praise:

  • We are thankful that we can minister here at NTM Homes in Central Florida.
  • Besides our main job responsibilities, the Lord continues to give us opportunities to serve others (residents and staff alike).
  • We thank the Lord for the Bible translations that have been completed in the past twelve months.

Prayer:

  • Please pray for those missionaries who are in the process of translating the precious Scriptures into another language and for the people who are waiting for those Scriptures.
  • Pray that Brad and I will have eyes to see the needs in the lives of those we meet, as we go about our responsibilities.
  • There are many serious health needs in our retirement community here.
  • Pray that our focus will be on our Wonderful Lord and Savior (looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our Faith).
  • Please pray that our times in the Word and in prayer will bring us closer to Him.

I will leave you with a quote from a book that I have been reading. “He (God) would have them (Christians) continually concerned either with eternity (which means being concerned with Him) or with the Present – either meditating on their eternal union with, or separation from, Himself, or else obeying the present voice of conscience, bearing the present cross, receiving the present grace, giving thanks for the present pleasure.” The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis

Trying to live with eternal perspectives,

Wanda (and Brad) Hull
