History

Diann:

Diann was born and raised in Washington where she lived with her parents, two brothers and two sisters. Diann graduated from high school and was employed in the Long Beach area. In March of 1973, she and Dave were married and settled in the Long Beach area. They later moved to Rosburg, Washington to be closer to Dave's work and began attending church at Valley Bible Chapel. It was during this time that Diann was born again and began to live for the Lord. The year 1975 saw them leave southwestern Washington for Denver, Colorado, where Dave enrolled at Western Bible College.

Dave:

Dave was raised in Western Washington where he lived with his parents and his 7 brothers and sisters. Dave attended schools in the Washington area as his family relocated to Washington when he was 6 years old. He later graduated from WSU in the eastern part of the state. It was during the summer break of his junior year in college that he met Diann and the romantic flame was kindled.

Dave was converted to Christ at an early age, but did not begin to live for the Lord until he was 24. A book, (Late Great Planet Earth) shared by one of his co-workers at Weyerhauser Corporation, had an instrumental effect in turning him to the Lord.

Dave and Diann's combined history:

The Lord began to work in their hearts in the early 1980's about a life in missionary work. They were challenged by a New Tribes Mission Representative and entered into the NTM missionary training program in Baker, Oregon in September of 1981. The following verse was instrumental in directing Dave & Diann into mission work:

Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on Him, in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

After their initial training, it was on to the NTM Language Institute in Camdenton, Missiouri. Having successfully completed their NTM training, they returned to Oregon in September of 1983 and embarked on deputation. They arrived in Papua New Guinea in August of 1984. They have found the Lord faithful all along the way as they approach the 20-year mark in ministry in PNG.
