"But the Angel said to them, Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:10-11
Dear Friends, As we journey through this month we do want to wish you a blessed Christmas season as we look forward to celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our thanks go out to all who have sent us Christmas Cards. It is very meaningful to Diann and I as we spend another Christmas overseas.
Yesterday evening, we strolled down Orchard Road enjoying the Christmas displays and lighting. One very long section was set apart for Christian organizations and their displays. Wow and praise the Lord! It was wonderful to have this Christian presentation widely displayed on one of the busiest shopping streets in the world.
On Saturday evening our church has a dinner and scheduled Christmas program. Of course on Sunday there will be church, then in the evening hours we will be spending time with our cell group. Christmas Day will find us spending a quiet day together.
During the recent Annual General Meeting, our chairman Lionel Ong completed his term. All at NTM (Asia), plus the Board of Directors are thankful to Lionel for his faithful service in that position for many years. Georgina Tan is now the chairman of the board for NTM (Asia). Her willingness to assume this responsibility is greatly appreciated.
As a matter of fact we appreciate all of our board members, who give of their time and advice as we ultimately focus on the important task of getting the gospel to remote people groups.
Diann and I have sent some communication that there will be a change upcoming in the New Year for us.
As we have been ministering here in Singapore, we have been observing the Government Representative/Port Moresby situation. The mission has not been able to keep personnel in that ministry for more than a year. At this point in time there is a great need for someone to commit to the responsibilities of the government representative position for a longer period of time.
After talking with our NTM leadership we decided to return to Papua New Guinea in 2007 and take up the responsibilities in Port Moresby. Lord willing we will be departing from Singapore in March.
Thank you for praying for us as we continue on with the ministry in Singapore and plan for our return to PNG.
With every blessing during this Christmas season,
Dave & Diann
